aboutmeimageJuliehexagonshapeHi! I’m Julie and I’m excited you found my blog and website! This is a site dedicated to those I love most of all, my family. I am passionate about preserving memories and moments in time with my camera. I am in love with capturing beautiful light in the world and on our loved ones. This creates stunning imagery and I hope that my work captures just a sliver of it on this site.

I grew up and have been in Kansas City all of my life. I have always loved taking photos, but like a lot of women, did not get serious about photography until having my own children. Now I soak up every bit of knowledge about photography that I can.  I love being creative and always have, and when not chasing my kids with a camera, I am usually scrapbooking or designing what next to do in the garden, or searching  something on pinterest!

Before falling in love with photography, I studied at the University of Missouri, both biology and chemistry, then went on to medical school at the University of Kansas. I am currently a family physician by day in Leawood, Kansas where I love playing detective to help diagnose the various issues for my patients.  I have a wonderful practice and it’s likely why I love studying what makes each person uniquely them. Also, with the serious illnesses come a reminder to live each day to the fullest and also hug and enjoy my family daily.

My husband, Ken, and I have three children: Jack (19), Josh (13), and Emma (10). They are my greatest supporters and I feel so blessed to have them in my life. I feel my photography celebrates them and our wonderful memories together.

Thank you for joining me on this photography journey!
